May 12, 2016 - Toronto ON Canada, SWIFT HOMES, a division of Atlantic Wind & Solar Inc. (OTC: AWSL), is pleased to announce the launch of SWIFT HOMES--Basic Line designed specifically for emergency disaster relief. For low cost housing, emergency shelter, or remote operations, the SWIFT HOMES Basic line is an ideal choice for quick deployment of housing, office and instant community, solutions.
Communities Rebuilt at Record Speed
This ultra-affordable prefab modular housing line can be delivered quickly and erected on site taking about 2.5 hours per dwelling. This speed allows for communities to be rebuilt within weeks including temporary schools, police / security booths and medical facilities.
Ultra Low Cost
At less than USD 10,000 per dwelling, these SWIFT HOMES are the ideal short term solution for quickly providing shelter following natural disasters such as earthquakes, mass fires, flooding, and hurricanes. Swift Homes are, by design, modular. As a result home/facility expansion can occur on any schedule with flexible timing and expenditure. This marks a huge timing and funding advantage over the traditional big-build model. Financial sustainability thus comes as an added bonus.
Future Re-location and Long Term Use
Buildings can also be easily adapted for long term use. One option is to relocate the SWIFT HOME from its first, temporary, placement to the property of an affected homeowner for use while rebuilding. All that is needed is a standard tractor trailer and small crane.
Modular Design
SWIFT HOMES can design low cost structures to suit almost any project specific requirements. Our prefabricated homes are manufactured in Europe and supplied as complete packages, including the building, all of the internal and external finishes, double glazed window units, internal plumbing installation, the electrical system and lighting, plus bathroom and kitchen. The focus is on modularity and scalability making the construction of both homes and communities fast and efficient. The central idea is the swift creation of communities formed around energy efficiency and expandability. Communities can be off-grid, or partially connected, depending on desire and convenience.
Energy Production and Efficiency Technology
Like all SWIFT HOMES the basic line can be outfitted with solar power generation to suit requirements. Solar generation is provided by Atlantic Wind & Solar Inc. (OTC: AWSL). The communities incorporate energy efficiency technologies, plus solar energy production and water creation, as a matter of course. Relief housing would do so as permitted by time and funding.
Commenting on the new line, President John Wilkes stated “The SWIFT HOMES line, under the Sustainable Living umbrella, presents two opportunities. One is to use these dwellings to kickstart Sustainable Living homesites and communities. The second is for use as medium to long term homes where desired or needed. Just in the very recent news we see 26,000 people needing homes in Ecuador after the earthquake and 80,000 people fleeing Fort McMurray, Alberta as the fire rages on. Speed becomes critical in such cases - in Northern Canada where although it is still early May, rest assured, winter is coming.”
